Veerappan and Captain Prabhakaran

The first thing that popped into my head as soon as i heard the news, "oh, man they covered it up." But then after reading the articles i was reminded of the killings, and all the other "wrong doings" he has done. And i thought, "maybe he deserved that."

There is a scene in the movie Captain Prabhakaran in which vijaykanth questions the judge, "why on earth a man who lives in a cave deprived all the things the industrialized world has to offer, seperated from his family, getting up every day and wondering whether he is gonna survive the day, NEEDS money from selling sandal wood? What can he ever do with that money? Who is actually benefitting?" This question has haunted me every time i hear his name.

I guess we will never know the answer of the last question, after all.
